An Off-road action in Rawang

This route is very famous among MTB enthusiast especially to those residing in Rawang and Sungai Buaya. Going through Waterfall estate, orang asli settlement and a few agricultural land, it is one of the most convenience route right at our door step.

It is a relatively short route but offers plenty of challenges and if you are riding it in an early morning, there are sections that look like it is not Selangor. We'll get into that shortly.

Syahril and I met at Caltex petrol station in Bandar Coalfield (still under construction – today) at 8am and we make a move towards Bestari Jaya and Batu Arang through an old estate road.

We entered the offroad section behind Saujana Rawang around 8.30am

and crossed this bridge, a sign that we are entering Kampung Orang Asli Sungai Kelubi.

Behind this village, there is a shortcut through small forest reserve with a slight elevation

Grass planting made this area looks like New Zealand but without the cows.

Being a popular route among MTB enthusiast, Waterfall estate road is bustling with bicyclist

Waterfall estate has no actual waterfall, just like Pantai Hospital in Bangsar without a beach : )

We made it to Sungai Buaya around 9.15am

and went to the entrance of Rawang bypass road.

When it is completed, this could be among the most scenic stretch in Selangor.
 Blocked!
 Drain crossing
Warning - Active construction site. Enter at your own risk!

The elevated section is still under construction and we went under it.

We completed this stretch around 10am and decided it is still too early to call it a day.

Decided to head to Empangan Batu and Genting Highland and met some crowd of bikers en route

The weather is cold and windy when we arrived around 11.00am and we had coffee before heading back through Karak around 12.30pm.
