Human tend to repeat what they like and in my particular
case I did just that, on my wife’s birthday yesterday. Exactly one year ago, we
went for a ride through Sungai Koyan and Tanah Rata, Pahang and went back just
in time to fetch our kids from school and nurseries.
Yesterday we went through the same route and departed from
our house in Rawang about 10minutes before 9am.
One of the tunnel is closed for maintenance and traffics are diverted into the same tunnel with only plastic cones separating the lane.
Traffic in both small towns of Bentong and Raub are bustling with activities as it is a normal working day today.
As we come nearer to Felda Sungai Koyan, more trucks carrying wide, big and bulky logs begin to increase its presence.
The route between Sungai Koyan to Tanah Rata is as picturesque as ever despite some roadwork going on along it.
There is also not much traffic on the road that day as we stop in the middle of the bridge for a photography session.
We had lunch at Boh Tea Plantation lookout hill in Habu, Tanah Rata in the middle of the rain. This is our second time here but only her first time up as she was 8 months old pregnant when we were here last time.
After another round of photoshoot session, we rode down around 2.30pm and it started raining again.
The rain became very heavy and the road are covered with thick fog as we passed Ringlet.
It get even worse by the time we get closer to Lata Iskandar and visibility dropped to almost 50m.
We made it safely to Tapah around 3.30pm and make a stop at R&R Tapah when we met these Singaporean riders on Yamaha Tmax, MV Agusta Stradale 800 & Kymco 400
We arrived home around 5.30pm and concludes this ride with smiles
p/s – her attitude toward riding has dramatically changed
from our last ride. I will not be surprised if she’ll ride her own bike in near
future!
