Due to our commitment and responsibilities, riding together (with my spouse) is a rare occasion. A series of events must occur before it is even worthwhile to plan the ride. Yesterday I was fortunate to have this opportunity and we did a day ride to Tasik Raban.
We rode through north south highway to Taiping before heading to Batu Kurau, Lenggong & Tasik Raban, before heading home through Kuala Kangsar. It is shorter than my
last ride here as we must be back early to pick up kids from school.
It is almost 9am when we make a move from Rawang and it is scouring hot when we hit the highway.
Weather forecast predicts a thunderstorm in Ipoh & Taiping at noon but we did not meet a single drop of water along the journey up north. The sky are blue clear and no cloud formation sighted.
We reached Sungai Perak RSA around 11pm and refilled both man and machine
Apparently PLUS, our highway operator have resorted to a better way to scare the monkeys away. The plate says "this stuffed tiger acted as a scarecrow for monkeys"
Journey to Batu Kurau was swift, with the view is as picturesque as ever and works as a therapy to me - every time
Not much traffic as it is working day here
Batu Kurau town is bustling with activities
Started to see some cloud formation here but no rain.. weather forecast is misleading at times
after a quick lunch break we continue and started entering my favourite route along this trip, Kampung Masjid to Lenggong
the scenery along this route is lovely with Lata Tebing Tinggi in the middle of the bridge and view of the mountain range on the other side
last time I was here, my camera lens is covered with water droplets
Lovely (again..sigh)
Arrived at Dataran Tasik Raban around 2pm and we shared a bowl of shredded ice.
We head back and entered NSE via Kuala Kangsar interchange.
During our break at Tapah RSA, we met this lady rider (famously known as Rempitan Pinky) on Caponord 1200 with her husband riding on HD Street Glide en route back from Songkla Bike Week.
We made safely home around 4.45pm without any issue.
All picture credits goes to my beloved wife, who took all the trouble to get the best shots.
Looking forward to next ride with her!
